Your first ten minutes.
Everything you need to know before you lie down, and how to make it a routine you'll actually keep.
Before you start
- Your mat and pillow
- A floor or a firm bed (a soft mattress softens the effect)
- A thin T-shirt for your first week
- Ten quiet minutes, phone in another room
Please check first
- Don't use it if you're pregnant
- …or have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners
- …or have a pacemaker, or broken or fragile skin
- Not sure? Ask your GP before you start
Five steps. That's all.

Lay it out
Mat flat on the floor, pillow at the top.

Ease down
Sit beside the mat, then lower your back onto it slowly.

Settle in
Spread your weight evenly. Neck on the pillow, arms relaxed.

Breathe
Slow breaths. Stay still for 10–20 minutes.

Get up slowly
Roll onto your side first, then sit up.
Minute by minute.
-
0:30Sharp.
Every point introduces itself. Totally normal. Breathe through it.
-
2:00Warm.
The sharpness fades into a warmth that spreads across your back.
-
5:00Shoulders drop.
Your breathing slows and your jaw unclenches.
-
10:00Not getting up.
Stay as long as feels good, up to 20 minutes.
Build up gently.
Through a T-shirt
Ten minutes a day, ideally at the same time. Let your body get used to it.
Skin on
Try bare skin for 10–15 minutes. The warmth comes quicker.
Make it yours
Up to 20 minutes. By now it's part of your evening, not a task.
Beyond your back.

Neck & shoulders
Lie with the pillow under your neck and the tops of your shoulders.

Lower back
Place the pillow (or the Mini) under the small of your back.

Feet
Stand on the mat for a minute or two, holding onto something for balance.
The full stop at the end of the day.
Most people use it in the evening: lamp low, phone in the kitchen, ten minutes on the mat, then bed. Prefer mornings? It works as a calm start, too. What matters most is doing it at the same time each day.
Keep it fresh.
Let it air after use. The linen cover is removable and washable. Follow the care label. Keep the core dry, and store everything flat or rolled in the linen tote.
Common questions
It's too intense. What do I do?
Add a thin layer (a T-shirt or a light towel), lie on a firm bed instead of the floor, or start with five minutes. It gets easier within a few sessions.
Are the red marks normal?
Yes. Small red dots where the points pressed are normal and usually fade within the hour.
How often should I use it?
Daily works best: ten to twenty minutes, at the same time each day.
Can I fall asleep on it?
Many people get very relaxed, but we recommend getting off after 20–30 minutes rather than sleeping on it all night.
